It’s just about that time of year again when every woman starts their search for the perfect suit. The selection is so overwhelmingly expansive making it difficult to pick. The different styles, colors and patterns can leave a girl kind of dizzy. When I’m out shopping for the perfect suit, I try to purchase very different styles from one another. Most importantly, I pick swim suits that make me feel confident and sexy at the beach or pool.… and that’s a pretty awesome feeling!

I’ve rounded up 8 of my favorite bathing suit styles below and mentioned some of my favorite brands.

  1. The One Piece:

Every woman should own a one piece. You do need to be careful when purchasing this type of suit because you don’t want to cover up on the beach as if you are visiting your grandma. Since it’s a one piece you can get away with a little more showing of certain parts 😉 and come across as fashion forward rather than skimpy. I mean it’s a one piece for goodness sake so live a little! The photo above is from Everything But Water It’s one of my favorite suits and it looks great on. Here are two more that I love: click here and here. Had to add this one too!

  2. The High Neck Piece:

As shown above, this suit is another one from Everything But Water and I’m obsessed! It’s reversible, so you get 4 ways to wear it and I love this style. When you’re on vacation or live in a beach town, you can throw on a pair of jean shorts and wear this around town without being to revealing. This suit is just an awesome rendition on the cut off halter top. Click here for more details.

  3. The Seersucker:

This suit screams preppy and it brings me right back to my childhood. Jcrew does this style right. They were also my first designer bathing suit that I ever owned so there is a little bit of nostalgia there. The Seersucker Suit is so cute, sophisticated, and perfect for your boat outing or laying out in the sun with friends. This one here is one of my favorites and one of j crews classic designs.

  4. The Floral Print:

Having flowers on your bathing suit can be a hit or a miss. There is a fine line between the fashion forward and sophisticated print verse the child-like and grandma print. Floral print is very in this season so you will see a lot of it everywhere you shop. Just be aware that because something is in, doesn’t necessarily mean it all looks good. Here is one of my favorites this season. I love the print along with the ruffles, but I will have to work on my tan before I wear it! Also here and here are two of my favorites from EBW. I’m obsessed with these patterns and I just ordered the second one so will let you know how it fits!

  5. Bright Colorful Pattern:

This type of bathing suit really can make you stand out during a day at the beach or pool. I love an awesome bright colorful swim suit with a pattern. I have rounded up a few of my favorites this season. This one here is just gorgeous and reversible! Here is another awesome pattern. I love this one here. I tried it on at the store, but they didn’t have my size. Still debating if I should order it online…already spent a pretty penny on suits this year! Ok and this is the last pattern I just couldn’t leave out. This definitely is a favorite.

  6. Just Color:

Sometimes I just go for a bold hot color and let the suit speak for itself. Here is another high neck suit, but it’s just an awesome color and style. Plus this one is also reversible! This one here is just that gorgeous red/pink color that is an eye stopper at the beach. Here (Creamsicle color) and here ( Not linking to the color I picked, but it’s called Maldives. It’s the bright turquoise color that just looks awesome on!) All of these bright and beautiful colors are my favorites and I just LOVE them all, but they would only look good with a tan, so make sure you have some time in the sun (with sunscreen!) before you wear either of them.

  7. Classic Black:

Nothing beats a black suit at the beach. It’s sophisticated, classy, and looks great with a tan or if it’s the beginning of summer. Here is a classic style, but with an added design. I also love this one (Make sure you click the black color when on site). This one is just perfect.

  8. The Target Suit:

Target is great for swim wear at a reasonable price, but it’s sometimes tough to find the suit you want in your size! They sell out quick, but if you’re lucky you can get an awesome suit without breaking the bank! Here is one of my favorites, but I went to the store, and it was already sold out of my size, so I’ll have to order online. I don’t love ordering bathing suits online because you never know how they really look until you put them on. Love this pattern and color too. I also am obsessed with this suit here. Another thing I love that target does is find the hot suits and make them affordable for people to purchase. For example, this Everything But Water Suit is amazing and so gorgeous, but this one at Target is half the price and just as gorgeous as the EBW piece. Here is another example of EBW vs Target. Both gorgeous suits but with a huge price difference!
